This is my 898th post on my blog! Hooray!
I went into work today to pick up my paycheck for orientation and some classes I had to take but alas my check was not available. It seems my time sheet I turned in (we use our badges to clock in/out but we didn’t have ours at class yet) went missing and I didn’t get credited for any of those hours. I ended up going to my department hunting down my boss but he was busy actually working like the rest of us (how many bosses actually get dirty and work with their employees?!). He never got my time sheet though it was stuffed in his door, but I filled out a new one and will hopefully get my check soon.
I haven’t even mentioned the job yet in my posts, I work as a transporter in one of the hospitals in my town. I got the job a month or so ago but it takes a long time to actually start working at a hospital it seems. What with all the classes, background checks, drug tests, etc. I won’t be working a lot right now as I’m a registry employee, I only work Sat/Sun 7am-7pm. Some during the week if I want.
Now I had applied for tons of PCT jobs there also but having been turned down for them I ended up applying for Transport, I had my interview and accepted the job. The next day right before HR called me to offer my pay and junk the ED called to offer me an interview for PCT.
Figures.
Other than that I’ve just been hanging out with Cory.
Been playing FFXI some.
I suppose that’s all. Serenade a Thief has a show tomorrow that anyone around there should go and see!

Well recently my Corolla’s brakes have went bye bye. Some Grinding at first, then to the point when pressing the brake pedal did nothing until it did. What it did was pretty scary, loud loud grinding, sounded like something snapped, etc. I was able to thankfully to make it home but along the way slowing down and trying to stop makes the car slam you forward a few times until it does stop. It appears it may just be the pads and rotors so hopefully Midas can help with that.
I’ve been applying for many many jobs at one of the hospitals here, mainly for Patient Care Tech, I was turned down for most of them, I was called about an interview for an IS Tech job with them but missed the call. After having lost hope I decided to apply for a few more PCT and 2 Transporter jobs. Last week I was called in for an interview for Transporter. To which I am now employed with said hospital. Unfortunately on the day the call came from Human Resources I was called by the hiring personal in the ED for the PCT job, to see if I wanted to come in and interview for it on Monday. Unfortunately I had already accepted the other job and didn’t want to risk turning down the one I took only to be turned down for the one in the ED.
Monday I go in and finish some paperwork, get some tests done and pick up my employee id. (and security card for my car if I want it). So now I’m an official employee of Wellmont Health System. Hopefully I’ll make some good friends there and enjoy the work. Possibly able to advance to different jobs later on.
For the time being, I work Weekends Sat/Sun 7am-7pm, I can pick up additional shifts during the week if I wish also. Pay seem good, if I decide to recertify in CPR I can add an extra dollar an hour, seems good to me.
Feels good to experience happiness again.. plus I get the awesome title of Transporter!
That is all.
